Bill’s education took him from Saint Andrew’s School, in Middletown, Delaware, where “Dead Poets Society” was filmed to the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, where Bill was an honors student. From there Bill went to Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where he received the honor of Shubert Creative Writing Scholar, and then to Boston College in Boston, Massachusetts, graduating Summa Cum Laude, fifth in his class, in Accounting in 1977.

Bill began his professional business career at Harvard University, where he worked in Harvard’s financial administration. Shortly thereafter, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, he founded a literary newspaper titled Unfoldings, run at the Crimson Press.

In 1978, Bill accepted an opportunity to join IBM’s financial organization in Raleigh, North Carolina. His ten-plus years at IBM involved eleven assignments in twelve ascending levels of the business, including financial, strategic planning, information systems, and training/development, and eventually on to IBM’s corporate headquarters. After Raleigh, North Carolina, he worked in Irving, Texas, on two occasions, and at IBM’s Corporate Headquarters in Armonk, NY. He was instrumental in setting national financial policies, and running plans and operations for hundreds of millions of dollars of both expense and capital. In his last headquarters assignment in New York, Bill was the chief financial executive of IBM worldwide training, a two-billion-dollar business, and was responsible for consolidating $400 million dollars of separate geographic and functional education, training, and development operations into one corporate business entity. In so doing, tens of millions of capital and expense dollars were saved.

In the fall of 1988, Bill co-founded Impact Education Services to provide outstanding, measurably high-yield training and strategic/business consulting at an affordable cost to national, regional, and local companies of all sizes and types.

In 1990, Bill was appointed as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Productivity and Profit Improvement Associates (PPIA), a U.S.-based, full-service consulting, training and management development company headquartered in Solana Beach, California, and affiliated with Brian Tracy Learning Systems. He instituted a complete curriculum of skills-based courseware and gap-assessment diagnostics, positioning PPIA’s performance management technologies as a major factor for corporate success. In 2000, Bill accepted a position as Chairman of the Board for Automated Energy, Inc., an energy software company out of Oklahoma City, OK.

He began Strategia, an international management consulting company in 1993, which continues to the present, working with CEO’s and their leadership teams to “Turbocharge” their companies through best-in-class strategic and business planning and implementing. In 2001, Bill became Chairman of Automated Energy, a leader in the optimization of real time energy management, headquartered in Oklahoma City. In 2009, Bill co-founded The Cabinet, connecting great consultants with aspiring companies via “Local Touch, Global Reach” in all major consulting specialties.
